Our program operates seven days a week with daytime and evening hours. Volunteer hours are tailored to meet your individual schedule. All volunteers are required to attend a three hour volunteer orientation.
The goal of our volunteer program is to reduce stress for patients and their family members enabling them to relax, therefore making their stay at Delnor a positive one. Volunteers must be comfortable with patients/families, sensitive to their needs and possess interpersonal skills. In order to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers all adult volunteers will be asked to authorize a criminal background check, (social security number is required). This could also include possible finger printing prior to volunteering at Delnor.
All volunteers are required to have TB testing which will be provided free of charge. We also ask that each volunteer supply proof of immunization for MMR and Varicella, information will be provided at orientation. Should you have specific clinical questions prior to the orientation please contact our occupational health department at (630) 208-4549.
